While a lot of us start thinking about gardening as soon as we turn the corner to a new year in January, most of us don’t really get our hands dirty (literally) until much later in the year.

However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some fantastic plants you should be getting a jump on as soon as the cool, winter weather starts to pass. In fact, there are quite a few of them!

In this video from Kevin at Epic Gardening along with his friends Jacques and Meg, you’ll learn about 9 of the best crops you should start planting in March.

Of course, when you start seeds will depend on your growing zone. Since we are not all in the same zone, they let you know the ideal sowing dates for different locations.

If you are unsure which zone you are in, you can look it up on the USDA website. Just a heads up – they did update this map in 2023, so if you haven’t checked lately, it’s a good idea to take a look and see if your zone has changed.
